Dermal Fillers - FAQ

Dermal Fillers are gel-like products that are injected through the skin to treat and / or prevent the effects of aging by restoring volume, lifting and plumping the areas that may have lost elasticity and firmness over time.
If your concerns are facial volume depletion or loss, facial wrinkles, or just want to add volume to your face (e.g. lips and cheeks), then you are a candidate. Rest assured that your Glow Aesthetix medical provider will choose the best filler to achieve your goals.

During your consultation, your practitioner will examine your face to determine and discuss your concerns and goals. After applying the numbing cream, small amounts of filler will then be injected into the areas of concern. Our dermal fillers contain the formulated local anaesthetic lidocaine to ensure the process is as comfortable as possible. (Ice packs, stress balls and vibrating beauty bar will also be offered 🙂

First, results are instant. However, since we use needles to introduce dermal fillers, bruising and swelling are the most common effects after the procedure. In two weeks’ time, most clients report that bruising and swelling are gone and the fillers are completely “settled.”
Results usually last between 9-24 months depending on many factors such as: (1) your metabolism, (2) areas treated, (3) products used. Your licensed provider will always inform you about the longevity of the results as treatments are highly individualized.
As these treatments are highly individualized, your provider will recommend the best products to use during your consultation. It is very important that you must disclose your health diagnosis, allergies, and medications to your provider at every appointment.
